Data availability and Use: Joint Councils of Social Service Network submission to the Productivity Commission
Authoritative and reliable sources of data are fundamental to developing the programs and service delivery undertaken by the community services sector. Good use of data makes it possible to tackle complex, intergenerational and entrenched disadvantage and inequality. The COSS network is concerned the inquiry is missing an opportunity for improved economic and social outcomes due to its primary focus on government and private sector data and lack of due consideration of human services.
