NSW community sector honoured in King’s Birthday recognition 

More than 150 people working across the  NSW community services sector were recognised in the King’s Birthday honours on Monday 8 June.

Among them were Debra Maher, who was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her long-standing contributions to the justice system and advocacy in New South Wales. She has been an avid supporter of women and children through voluntary board memberships, previously acting as a Director for both Rape and Domestic Violence Services Australia and Women’s Legal Services NSW.

Dean de Haas was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his extensive service through the not-for-profit sector. Dean is the Executive Officer of Auburn Youth Centre Inc.

Denis Walsh was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his exceptional service to the community through volunteering in executive positions for the St Vincent de Paul Society.
