We are seeking a passionate community services worker to join our team in supporting those experiencing Domestic and family Violence and homelessness in a residential setting.

Set shifts Friday and Saturdays 4:30pm - 9pm and on call 9am - 4pm Saturdays.

Options available to fill shifts for staff on sick and annual leave.

Professional development, clinical supervision provided.

Key responsibilities of the role:

Intake and assessment
Client induction.
Cleaning and setting up rooms as clients exit the service.

Maintaining client information - Case notes.
Supporting clients’ needs as required.
Running activities
Administrative tasks - Communications, uploading documents, maintaining client files.
This role reports to the Housing Manager

The position is subject to ongoing funding.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Community Services, Social Work or related discipline, or working towards.

Essential Criteria

A willingness to support and promote the values and ethos of Kingsway Community Care.
Flexibility with work hours.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Must be available to fulfil evening shifts.
Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with key service providers.
Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
Sound understanding of child protection issues.
Demonstrate an ability to work effectively with crisis clients experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, domestic and family violence and or alcohol and other drug addictions.
Have a high level of confidence and ability to manage and respond in crisis and emergency situations.
Willingness to undertake further training for professional development.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Excellent computer skills.
High level of organisational ability.
Criminal history check and working with children’s check are required.
Current Full drivers’ licence.
Current first aid certificate an advantage

Desirable Criteria

Bilingual
Experience in trauma informed practices
Mental health first aid certificate
Experience working with complex clients
Demonstrate an understanding of trauma informed care
Actively involved in church

Kingsway community care - Platform Nine

Kingsway Community Care Inc. is a faith-based, not for profit organisation that exists to serve the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of the community.
This role will see you working casually within our Crisis Refuges - Platform Nine. The support worker will assist in the daily running of the sites as well as supporting caseworkers and clients as required.
