About Inner Sydney Voice
For over half a century, Inner Sydney Regional Council for Social Development trading as Inner Sydney Voice has promoted social justice and inclusion with, and for people who experience social and economic disadvantage or are in need of benevolent assistance. As one of the first regional social development agencies to be funded in NSW, we continue to support people, their communities and organisations across Central, Eastern and Inner West Sydney.

Inner Sydney Voice mobilises, supports and resources people, their communities and organisations. We are known and respected as the independent regional social development organisation and we work with government, non-government and for-profit organisations seeking to provide benevolent relief and deliver better social outcomes for people, families and communities. Inner Sydney Voice is seeking a leader for our small organisation who is committed to social and economic justice, the needs and aspirations of people experiencing social and economic disadvantage in our neighbourhoods, and building better and stronger organisations delivering services in our community. We are keen to talk to you about your experience leading and managing in small organisations with limited resources, improving service delivery and practice (particularly for organisations delivering services to children and families and older people), delivering small-medium projects and delivering on a policy advocacy agenda at a community level.

About the Role
The Executive Officer is focused on leading a small but committed and skilled team of employees and volunteers who are delivering on our agenda to make inner Sydney a fairer and better place to live. This position leads our sector development work for children and families and older people, our policy advocacy and community development work and our other programs. Aside from the critical work delivering on our programs is the work of running the organisation – people management, financial management, generating funding and income, governance and compliance.

About you
We are looking for an experienced leader who:

  • is committed to social and economic justice for people living in inner Sydney, and capable of shaping and delivering a policy/advocacy/community development strategy to achieve that
  • knows how to improve and build local community sector services and organisations to improve outcomes for children, families and older people
  • is skilled at delivering small to medium sized projects in small organisations
  • is a capable and ethical manager of staff, volunteers, finances and resources
  • can generate revenue and funding to deliver on the organisation’s strategy

Mandatory
Relevant degree in Social Work, Social Sciences/or an equivalent discipline, or relevant equivalent practice and leadership experience within the community/NFP sector.

What we can offer you

  • Salary at SCHADS 8.3 (approx. $134K pa, pro rata 0.8FTE approx. $107Kpa)
  • Part time work (four days a week), 2 year contract
