About New Beginnings:

WHOS New Beginnings is an award-winning women’s only AOD residential service, located within the beautiful grounds of Broughton Hall Lilyfield. Information on WHOS services can be found at our website.

About the position:

This position is focused on supporting women by providing high-quality phone assessments, coordinating planned admissions, and maintaining strong working relationships with partner services.

Position criteria:

  • Qualification in AOD/Community Services/Mental Health or related field
  • Ability to work with women experiencing AOD related issues
  • Ability to collaborate with others and identify new and strengthen existing referral pathways
  • Ability to build rapport with women seeking support and conduct comprehensive AOD assessments
  • Experience liaising with a range of stakeholders for example specialist women’s services, GP’s/medical clinics, withdrawal management services, community services, and the criminal justice system
  • Knowledge of the Therapeutic Community model of treatment
  • Ability to co-ordinate admissions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to self-manage workload, as well as being part of a supportive team
  • Available to work evening and weekend shifts if required
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate/CPR or willingness to obtain same
  • Knowledge and understanding of harm minimisation
