About the role

Weave is looking for a strategic and creative Grants & Fundraising Writer to join our team.

In this role you will support the grants life-cycle, including writing applications, reports, and acquittals. You will work with the Fundraising Lead to research, write, and submit compelling grant applications to secure and sustain funding from a range of existing and prospective funders. You will also support Weave’s Fundraising & Communications team to produce written content as needed for our digital channels, newsletters, presentations, pitches, reports and stewardship materials.

The Role

Reporting to Director of Development and Operations and collaboratively across the team, you will be responsible for implementing membership projects and processes, maintaining ACOSS’s CRM system, providing support for ACOSS’s Policy and Advocacy work, and providing general administrative support to the ACOSS office.

This is a hands-on role within a small team where you will be responsible for a variety of functions which include:

  • Undertake administration duties and other functions within membership processes, including but not limited to recruitment, retention and engagement
  • Provide administrative support for ACOSS’ political and bureaucrat engagement and policy and advocacy work including but not limited to arranging meetings with parliamentarians and bureaucrats and ACOSS policy network engagement
  • Develop, manage, maintain and administer ICT and CRM systems related to work area, including providing advice and internal training, and establishing key procedures
  • Contribute insights and ideas to establish procedures within work areas and where procedures are not defined, further develops work methods
  • Contribute to the operations of the ACOSS national office, including administrative support, reception duties and general administrative office support, as required

Skills Required

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the values of ACOSS and a developing understanding of its membership, advocacy, and political engagement work. You will have strong organisational and administrative and ICT and other technical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and provide effective support across teams.

You will bring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage professionally with members, stakeholders, and external organisations. The role requires the ability to work independently with guidance, as well as collaboratively within a team. Experience in the not‑for‑profit or community sector, membership‑based organisations, or political offices is desirable, along with familiarity with CIVI CRM or Advoc8 and an awareness of issues affecting people experiencing poverty and disadvantage.

Position Overview

The position works closely with the Director of Development and Operations, Chief Strategy Officer, and the policy leads responsible for parliamentary engagement management and policy management.   • Contribute to identification and monitoring of systemic issues arising for people receiving or seeking to receive aged care services and/or their representatives

Essential criteria:

  1. Degree or equivalent education in social work, psychology or related field
  2. Sound knowledge and understanding of the aged care system in NSW and familiarity with community resources for additional support
  3. Strong commitment to human rights, social justice and diversity
  4. Experience engaging with people who have lived experience of trauma
  5. Previous experience in applying advocacy that champions client voice and agency
  6. Be willing to register and authenticate as an advocate agent for professional use of the My Aged Care online portal.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

The Manager – Communications and Events is a senior management role responsible for leading strategic communications and impactful industry events that influence government policy and strategy, strengthen member engagement, and position CHIA NSW as a credible expert on housing and homelessness policy.

The role is responsible for shaping CHIA NSW’s voice as a trusted advocate, raising the profile of our organisation, members and industry, and delivering major communications campaigns and events that successfully influence key external audiences.

Key Accountabilities

1. Strategic communications

  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the delivery of CHIA NSW’s Communications Strategy, aligned with organisational policy and advocacy priorities
  • Develop and implement targeted Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Plans aligned to CHIA NSW’s campaigns, events, reports. organisational achievements, and member partnerships
  • Oversee or produce content, including (but not limited to): media releases, publications, reports, newsletters, social media content, digital content, speeches and presentations
  • Oversight the management of CHIA NSW’s website, social media channels, member portal, and brand to ensure consistency and impact
  • Lead, manage and monitor the delivery of special projects, including developing, scoping and/or procuring projects, either individually or in partnership with external stakeholders
  • Manage CHIA NSW’s day-to-day relationship with external communications specialists and stakeholders to deliver effective outcomes
  • Build the capability of CHIA NSW’s teams to communicate their work effectively with external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of organisational policies relating to areas of expertise

2. Stakeholder engagement and events

  • Build productive relationships with external stakeholders, including (but not limited to) members, government stakeholders, Ministers and electorate offices, consultants, and partner organisations
  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the delivery of CHIA NSW’s Events Strategy, ensuring that events align with advocacy, engagement and revenue objectives
  • Design an annual program of strategic events (e.g. conferences, forums, roundtables, launches etc) for members and external stakeholders by collaborating with CHIA NSW’s internal teams
  • Oversee end-to-end event delivery, including concept development, logistics, stakeholder engagement and evaluation
  • Lead the day-to-day management and delivery of CHIA NSW’s biennial Community Housing conference, by working closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve key targets
  • Identify and secure new sponsorship and business development opportunities, by delivering and implementing a new Sponsorship Policy
  • Willingness to work outside of business hours to support the successful delivery of CHIA NSW’s events

3. Leadership, Management and Governance

  • Lead, mentor and develop a small high-performing team of up to two direct reports
  • Set clear priorities, manage workloads and support professional development
  • Manage budgets for communications and events activities
  • Oversee the procurement and management of external consultants and suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, brand standards and risk management requirements

4. Other

  • Work collaboratively with the Deputy CEO to meet CHIA NSW’s organisational objectives

  • Work with colleagues to build a positive and collaborative workplace culture, including representing the Public Affairs team on internal working groups and committees as required

Selection Criteria – Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior communications role (5+ years), preferably in a not-for-profit environment
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic communications and engagement initiatives
  • Strong leadership experience, including managing and developing staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
  • Significant experience managing complex events or programs of events, with a strong focus on advocacy or purpose-driven events
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and as part of a cross-functional team, and a willingness to take initiative where appropriate
  • Outstanding project management and organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects on time and on budget
  • Strong alignment with values-based organisations and the aims of the community housing industry

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a member-based organisation, not-for-profit organisation or government
  • Previous media relations and issues management experience

You will:

  • Create tailored services and programs that address the sexual health needs of the LGBTQ+ communities of GWS.
  • Design, plan, deliver, and evaluate health promotion activities such as workshops, outreach events, forums and online initiatives.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A thorough understanding of/or lived experience of LGBTQ+ and multicultural communities in GWS.
  • Experience in peer-group facilitation, training and/or public speaking.
    Good communication skills, with the ability to work with different styles of communication.

About the role

The Principal Solicitor is responsible for leading and maintaining the Centre’s legal practice. This includes:

  • ensuring compliance with all professional, regulatory and risk management obligations
  • supervising legal and intake staff

WHOS Gunyah Men’s Program is looking for enthusiastic and motivated people for two full-time AOD Community Service Worker roles based at Lilyfield NSW. Through this role you will be able to provide:

a) AOD assessment, referral, and education,
b) supervision and support to clients in a residential setting,
c) a structured daily program,
d) therapeutic interventions

TO BE CONSIDERED APPLICANTS MUST RESPOND TO THE FOLLOWING SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Certificate IV or higher in AOD, Community Services, Mental Health or related field
  2. Ability to work with clients that have AOD and associated conditions
  3. Knowledge of the AOD sector
  4. Ability to work a rotating roster inclusive of day, evening and weekend shifts
  5. Ability to facilitate groups
  6. Ability to work within a residential treatment service
  7. Understanding of harm minimisation strategies
  8. Unrestricted driving license

Community Services Worker AOD –Assessment & Intake (Full/Part Time 32 hrs pw)

This position is focused on supporting women by providing high-quality phone assessments, coordinating planned admissions, and maintaining strong working relationships with partner services.

Position criteria:

  • Qualification in AOD/Community Services/Mental Health or related field
  • Ability to work with women experiencing AOD related issues
  • Ability to collaborate with others and identify new and strengthen existing referral pathways
  • Ability to build rapport with women seeking support and conduct comprehensive AOD assessments
  • Experience liaising with a range of stakeholders for example specialist women’s services, GP’s/medical clinics, withdrawal management services, community services, and the criminal justice system
  • Knowledge of the Therapeutic Community model of treatment
  • Ability to co-ordinate admissions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to self-manage workload, as well as being part of a supportive team
  • Available to work evening and weekend shifts if required
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate/CPR or willingness to obtain same
  • Knowledge and understanding of harm minimisation

About the role

Weave is looking for a strategic and creative Fundraising & Communications Coordinator to join our team. In this role you will work closely with Weave’s Fundraising and Communications team to produce and deliver donor-centric integrated fundraising and communications campaigns and materials that:

  • Share Weave’s work and impact with our community, supporters and partners and drive donations.
  • Elevate the voices and wisdom of our clients and communities in strengths-based, culturally safe ways with a focus on empowering language and storytelling.

You will also contribute to day-to-day fundraising activities, including contributing to storytelling through the grant application and reporting processes and working within Weave’s Salesforce CRM to support donor experiences and journeys.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • has exceptional written and visual communications skills
  • has experience producing assets for social media and impact reports
  • is passionate about thoughtful and compelling storytelling
  • can turn complex work into clear and impactful written and visual narratives
  • has a deep respect for community voices, lived experience, and respectful, strengths-based, empowering communication

About the Role

The Partnerships Manager will lead the development and delivery of BEING’s corporate partnerships strategy. Working closely with the CEO and Board, this role translates strategic direction into meaningful, ethical, and financially sustainable partnerships that support BEING’s impact and long-term sustainability.

This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for building partnership pipelines, developing compelling value propositions, negotiating and stewarding high-value partnerships, and ensuring all partnership activity aligns with BEING’s values, constitution and consumer-led advocacy.

The Partnerships Manager reports to the CEO and works collaboratively across the organisation to embed a strong partnership culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of BEING’s corporate partnerships strategy.
    Identify, assess and cultivate aligned corporate partners and opportunities.
  • Lead end-to-end partnership management, from prospecting and negotiation to renewal and stewardship.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across corporate, government, and not-for-profit sectors.
  • Ensure ethical alignment, risk management, and governance across all partnerships.
  • Track performance, income and impact, and report to the CEO and Board.

About You

You are an experienced partnerships or stakeholder engagement professional who brings both strategic thinking and strong relationship and stakeholder engagement skills. You are comfortable leading high-value conversations with senior decision-makers, navigating ethical and reputational considerations, and building partnerships that deliver shared value and impact.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing end-to-end partnerships, ideally in a values-led or not-for-profit context.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Sound judgement around ethics, risk, and values alignment
  • Experience working with CRM systems and managing budgets and reporting
  • A collaborative, self-directed, and outcomes-focused approach
