– To support the participation of sector leaders from outside the Greater Sydney area, recipients will receive an allowance of up to $1,600. See Section 1 for further details
Please note:
– Additional financial assistance may be available to help sector leaders from the more remote parts of NSW participate in the program. Applications for additional assistance will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
– If you would like to seek additional assistance, please fill out the Application for Additional Assistance in Section 10.7 of the application form.
Your obligations
– You commit to attending all six days of the program on your intake dates (16-18 June and 21-23 July in 2026, for the first round)
– If you receive an allowance and do not attend on your intake dates, you agree to refund NCOSS any part of the allowance that remains unspent, other than where the expense is non-refundable and you can provide proof of that
– You agree to provide a short report about your experience with the program and the scholarship and be prepared to speak at NCOSS or CEW events or be interviewed for NCOSS or CEW publications. If you are asked to speak at NCOSS or CEW events, any out-of-pocket expenses (such as travel expenses) will be covered
– You consent to have your photograph taken and used in NCOSS and CEW publications, such as their websites, social media, media releases, reports or other materials. You will be notified in advance if your image if being used in any publication.
Selection process
Applications will be assessed by a panel of three to five sector leaders from organisations whose employees aren’t eligible to apply, or other qualified people.
Shortlisted applicants may be asked to participate in a short interview with members of the selection panel to further discuss their application and how participating in the program will benefit them and their organisations.
Commitment to rural & regional organisations, the next generation of sector leaders, & First Nations sector leaders
To be awarded one of NCOSS’s Harrison-Church Women’s Leadership Scholarships, all applicants will need to meet the general eligibility criteria (above) and be assessed as a suitable candidate for CEW’s Leaders Program by the section panel.
We recognise, however, the particular challenges for different groups within the sector and strongly encourage applications from women leaders based outside Greater Sydney, First Nations leaders (especially those who work for NCOSS member organisations that are ACCOs or ACCHOs), and from emerging leaders 35 years of age or under.
