Assistive Technology Community Alliance of NSW releases guides on assistive technology for NDIS planners and Local Area Coordinators
Many types of assistive technology (AT) can form part of a person’s reasonable and necessary supports under the NDIS. In assisting people to prepare for the NDIS, it is important the NDIS planners and Local Area Coordinators (LAC) are aware of AT issues, and understand the importance of putting the person at the centre of their AT solution.
The Assistive Technology Community Alliance of NSW (ATCAN) chaired by NCOSS, has developed a guide to person centred practice in AT, and a fact sheet about AT related factors to consider when helping a person develop their NDIS plan.
