Social Impact Investing Consultation

The Australian Government has released the Social Impact Investing Discussion Paper.  The discussion paper sets out a whole of government position on social impact investing.  Section 2 Overview of social impact investing includes a useful explanation of what Social Impact Investing is, the main forms it takes and the challenges facing organisations interested in accessing this market.

The discussion paper also includes the Commonwealth’s objectives for social impact investing, principles to guide its involvement in the social impact investing market and identifies possible regulatory barriers that can be addressed by the Commonwealth to support the market. Submissions close 27 February 2017.
