The Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation has appointed an independent panel of experts to undertake a comprehensive review of the NSW regulatory policy framework to ensure that NSW laws:

  • Are reasonable and responsive to the economic, social and environmental needs of our community
  • Do not impose unnecessary burdens on business, consumers and the community.

They are not seeking extensive submissions, they want short, sharp responses, ideally with  examples or case studies/stories regarding regulations that are unnecessary, don’t achieve anything worthwhile, overly onerous, repetitive, poorly managed or how regulation could be done better.

The panel is also exploring how governments can take advantage of digital opportunities and alternative regulatory approaches.  To provide feedback go to the Have your say website.
