There has been a call by JBWare for the community sector to consolidate. It maintains there are too many charities and that this is a barrier to greater giving by wealthy Australians.  The blog from Governance Institute of Australia points out that their assertion is based on half the facts and does not reflect the whole story.  They point out a number of deficiencies in the claim including noting a quote from the ACNC’s Commissioner:  “Australia actually has fewer charities per capita than Canada, England and Wales, the USA, Scotland, and New Zealand”
