Good news: funding certainty for disability organisations

For the last 18 months, NCOSS and its members have been seeking certainty over the funding future of disability advocacy, information and representative organisations. Last week, the NSW Government wrote to these disability organisations to confirm funding will be provided until 30 June 2018. This is great news for organisations who provide services that are likely to fall into the NDIS Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) Framework, which is not aiming to commission services in NSW until 2018. Having this certainty allows organisations to offer continuity of service to people with disability during the NDIS implementation period. The Sector welcomes this certainty believing it will assist organisations to play a vital role in fostering greater inclusion of people with disability in NSW and linking people with the benefits of the NDIS.
