Advice for new board members (and old ones)

The AGM season is now over for most of us and there are a number of new board members.  The 10 duties and responsibilities that every Director must understand notes that most new board members are aware that there are legal obligations under various legislative frameworks.  However, this is only part of the job and there are standards of personal conduct the both reflect and expand on legal responsibilities.
