Impediments to outcome measurement
Unsurprisingly, research by the Centre for Social Impact in Western Australia into The future of outcomes measurement in the community sector in Western Australia has found that whilst many organisations are attempting to measure their outcomes (ie three-quarters of their sample), a lack of funding and resources is making it very hard. In Community organisations lack the funding and data to measure their impact, the authors of the research discuss the issues and note five key areas for reform: funding for measurement; access to relevant government data; standardised language; and, professional development and guidance for organisations to measure outcomes.
