Clients with disability aged 65 years and over
The Commonwealth Department of Health has recently written to the NSW service providers that deliver supports to people with disability who are aged 65 and over, to provide information on the new Commonwealth Continuity of Support program. If your service fits this category and has not received a letter, you can contact Commonwealth via CommonwealthCoS@health.gov.au.
Continuity of support relates to arrangements to ensure services continue to be available for people with disability aged over the age of 65 who will not be eligible for the NDIS. NCOSS understands that Continuity of Support Guidelines are being developed at present and will be made available for public consultation shortly. We will keep people up to date on this process as information comes to hand.
ADHC will continue to stay in contact with service providers throughout the year to communicate updated arrangements for the transition, so that there is sufficient time to achieve a smooth transition for clients and providers to the new Commonwealth continuity of support arrangements.
