NCOSS welcomes the appointment of the new Federal Assistant Minister for Disability Services, Jane Prentice MP.

A specific voice on disability issues in Government is especially crucial is this time of change. As well as overseeing the roll-out of the NDIS, strong leadership is needed in the implementation of the National Disability Strategy. The Strategy ensures that all parts of Government across the country take responsibility for making society accessible to people with disability, dealing with areas as broad as health, economic security, justice and safety.

We wish Assistant Minister Prentice well in this important role.
